Helen Anderson - PALS Team Leader

Conseil d'établissement Representative 2024-25

Y11

We arrived in Sydney in 2019, our 10th international move in 20+ years. Our daughter, who started her education in PS at the Lycée Français de Chicago, continues to thrive in the dynamic multi-cultural environment of LCS. I am an active listener and passionate in my role as an elected school committee representative. For 4 years we have constructively engaged with the school to enhance students' opportunities and the school environment. My research background gives me the expertise to analyse information to support parents and the school.

Conseil d'établissement Representative 2024-25
MS

We arrived in Sydney exactly a year ago when my daughter turned 3, just in time for her to begin her journey at LCS. My wife is Australian, born & raised in Sydney, and after seven years in London, we are happy to be back home. I am French and well-acquainted with the intricacies, strengths, and challenges of the French educational system. I firmly believe that one of the most important responsibilities we have as parents is to provide our children with the education and resources they need to thrive as future adults.Professionally, I come from a background in capital markets, where I have led strategic initiatives, among other responsibilities.I am passionate about technology and computer science. With a curious mindset, I am a lifelong learner, always eager to explore diverse fields.

Being dad of 3 wonderful children, who all started to attend LCS from the petite section, I had the privilege of witnessing the amazing evolution of our school for the past 10 years. Keeping in mind that children and their interests should always remain at the heart of our concerns, I am keen to offer my experience and knowledge of the school's operations and my desire to see the LCS continue to develop harmoniously. As a former school council member and board member, I hope to continue serving the children, the school, and our beautiful community.

Having lived, studied and worked overseas in Sweden, the USA, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, my family and I have decided to make Sydney our home. Openness, diversity, collaboration and understanding are the values we want our children to learn in an international environment to become true global citizens. I work as a senior project manager in the global financial services industry, where interactions across cultures and countries are a daily reality. If you can't find me near the school or in the CBD, you will find me somewhere near the ocean in my role as a volunteer lifesaver in Bondi.

Gil Yuni is an American of Indonesian origin and a francophone by choice. Having earned two master's degrees from INSEAD in Paris and EHL in Lausanne, she immersed herself in French-speaking countries and communities. Her passion for education runs deep in her family. Her grandparents (and two other families) funded the buildings of a prominent primary school in Java, Indonesia, after the independence from the Dutch. That school now educates 800 students each year. Gil loves to serve the community. She has volunteered for UNICEF fundraising in New York (US$ 850,000 raised) and is actively involved with bush care activities in Sydney. Her son, Patrick (CM1), has attended French schools in New York, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Sydney. She appreciates Australian wines as much as French, Austrian and German wines.

I am from Mauritius having arrived in Australia in 2000. My sons, who are in CM2 and CE1 have attended the LCS since PS. Whilst originally from Mauritius, my wife and I seeked a diverse and inclusive learning environment, fostering a high-quality bilingual education for our sons. I have volunteered with various schools in Mauritius, helping to improve students mental and physical wellbeing and eager to contribute to our children’s growth at the LCS. I currently work for an Australian Financial Institution investing and managing the wealth of over 100 Australian families.
